Soccer

Soccer is like another limb to me. I play all school year and in the summer, there are no weeks with out soccer. It keeps me fit and moving which I love, and it's another family to me. My team means so much to me this season, they're the nicest team I've had in years and even though we're not the best, we all play way above our title - which is maroon, the third best team- and we've never stopped trying. The heat always gets us but we still push.

Today there was a heat advisory of 106 degrees and we had two games twenty minutes after each other. I couldn't make it to the first game besides the last seven minutes, but I watched and we were beat. We won against a lower team but only had a few minutes to recuperate and play a game against a year higher and a rank higher. When the game started we all played super hard; we kept possession, we made beautiful wall passes, kept making runs, and kept pushing. I stayed in almost all game except when the front of my shoe needed to be taped because I kicked a ball across field and ripped it. I played very well along with the rest of my team. They're weren't any referees today so the game was rough, I have a bruise on my hip from being pushed down and a soon to be bruise on my left cheekbone from an elbow.

Bruises, scratches, and scars are one of my favorite parts of soccer because it shows hard work, but I can not stand when I get seriously hurt. For a few years I've been playing soccer non stop, so when I over worked and strained both hips and knees last season, it was the end for me. I was out a whole four months. I missed soccer so much; I missed the screaming when I made a good run, I missed being tired and actually sweating, and I missed my team. I went to the gym over the summer to rebuild what I had lost during the four months. It was different but I learned I'm great at boxing. I'm finally back and I love it. I'm taking care of my hip and knees more precautiously because I couldn't live another 4 months without soccer.
