In an article posted by Usnews written by Kimberlee Kruesi, the topic of capitol punishment came up in correlation with abortions. She writes and responds to a man running for governor's thoughts about giving the death penalty to women and doctors who acquire abortions. He uses the phrase " anyone who has an abortion should pay." He continues with his stance and agrees with another, that women should get the death penalty for . In another article posted by Refinery 29 , he noted that a women would not face the death penalty but just the threat alone would dramatically reduce the abortion rates. While he sounds pro-life, the figures who represent pro-life tried to distance themselves and explain that his view opposes everything the Pro-Life movement believes in. We Are Okay by Nina LaCour

We Are Okay by Nina LaCour is a great book so far. I haven't been reading it for very long but it immediately caught my eye with a baby pink, teal, and black cover. It has a drawing of a girl standing on a bed in the middle of the beach. When I saw the book in the library I remembered briefly reading a summary of the book and wanting to read it during the summer; so when I saw it I checked it out without rereading the summary and jumped right in. This book starts with what is happening in real time. The second chapter is a flash back, and it continues to jump back and forth. The book didn't mention the main character's name until around page twenty, but does mention the name of her roommate and the girl who will be visiting her. She mentions everything in her room and her feelings to where I feel like I'm in her mind sharing her thoughts. yearbook

I tell myself that I do not like yearbook. Though when I find myself running around with a camera in my hand trying to capture people's smiles, I remember why I signed up for the class. Granted, I do not like missing practices or always being busy, but when i take a really good picture or see my picture in a yearbook spread I get the best feeling. This feeling of great reward is worth all of the looks I get and being the odd one out. Yearbook is also pretty hard. The class is really laid back all year but as the end comes we get more and more stressed out. The yearbook crew works over all breaks and the grind actually starts in the summer. That is when the editors, Ms. Madden, and all the people willing to, work their hardest to make the yearbook aesthetic and easy on the eyes.
